Areas of focus
Why intellectual property?
What is particularly compelling is that intellectual property rights are exclusive rights that directly benefit their owners, but also offer considerable advantages to the general public.
For example, trademarks serve as a certificate of quality for products and services for consumers, while copyright and design rights are real drivers of creativity and contribute directly to enriching the range of works of all kinds available to the public.
Thus, intellectual property law affects everyone in one way or another, both individually and collectively.
